Raelene (2014) is a promising young violinist based in The Hague. She began playing the violin at the age of five and was soon admitted to the Young Talent programme of the Royal Conservatoire The Hague. Between the ages of seven and nine she performed with the Atheneum Kamerorkest Junior. In the summer of 2024 she continued her studies at the Academie Muzikaal Talent with Ilona Sie Dhian Ho, and since 2026 she has been studying with Ilya Grubert.
Raelene has already received several notable distinctions. At the age of eight she won first prize at De Muziekwedstrijd. At nine she became a finalist of the prestigious Concertgebouw Concours and won third prize at the International Anton Rubinstein Violin Competition Junior in Germany. At eleven she won the Iordens A prize of the Nederlands Vioolconcours.
As a performer she has appeared in lunchtime concerts at major Dutch venues such as the Concertgebouw and TivoliVredenburg. She has also appeared on national television, including the Kinderprinsengrachtconcert, the Kerst Muziekgala – where she performed in the presence of Queen Máxima – and the programme Podium Klassiek. Awarded best performance of a commissioned work at the Nederlands Vioolconcours, Raelene later performed the piece on NPO Klassiek’s radio programme Podium. She occasionally performs together with her brother, Reo Pramana, including at the Dag van de Componist 2025.
Raelene has taken part in masterclasses with distinguished musicians including Ana Chumachenco, David Takeno, Boris Garlitsky, Ingolf Turban, Stephan Picard and Zohrab Tadevosyan. She has also participated in international summer courses.
Raelene plays on an old German violin, kindly made available to her through Toon, topinstrument voor toptalent, an initiative of the VandenBroek Foundation in collaboration with the Leerorkest Nederland.
